Alle Jahre wieder....aber diesmal scheint es wahr zu sein. Das Album kommt und ich könnt platzen vor Freude.
Es gibt wohl in den Staaten einen exklusiven Verkaufsdeal mit BestBuy, die es jetzt online gelistet haben, mit Cover, Tracklist und Release Date.
25.11. für Amerika, das heißt vermutlich 21.11. für Deutschland.
Mindestens neun, wahrscheinlich aber elf der vierzehn Tracks kenn ich zwar schon, aber es ist trotzdem ein Gefühl wie Weihnachten.

ach ja, ich weiß, Slash, Duff und Izzy sind nicht mehr dabei, und Axl ist vermutlich ein Arschloch, aber hier gehts um die Musik und da beherrscht Axl sein Handwerk noch immer sehr gut.

Ich bin es ja fast leid, immer den Herrn Rose zu verteidigen, aber man muss ihm zugute halten, dass er noch nie gesagt hat "Das Album erscheint an Tag X", es gab nur mal ein tentative release date, wo er gleich dazu sagte, dass das nicht wahr werden muss. Ansonsten hieß es "I dont know if soon is the right word." Die ganzen möglichen Daten wurden immer wieder von der Presse und selbst ernannten Insidern angebracht, sodass jetzt auf den Foren anfangs alle lachten, als es plötzlich November 2008 hieß, weil ein vermeintlicher Thanksgiving- bis Weihnachtsverkauf-Release schon eine schöne alljährlich wiederkehrende Tradition geworden war.

Auch wenn er nie ein Release-Datum genannt hat, redet er aber seit ca. 10 Jahren davon, dass das Album "so gut wie" oder sogar komplett fertig sei... Von daher ist das für mich einfache eine neverending und völlig lächerliche Story...

Guns N’ Roses’ managers released a statement today officially confirming the arrival of Chinese Democracy on November 23rd. “The release of Chinese Democracy marks a historic moment in rock n’ roll,” said Irving Azoff and Andy Gould. They also added that Best Buy would be launching a “monumental campaign that matches the groundbreaking sound of the album itself.” Pre-orders begin today for the 14 track album co-produced by Axl Rose and Caram Costanzo (Pearl Jam’s No Code, Rage Against the Machine’s Evil Empire). Chinese Democracy will be available on CD, digital download and vinyl (with a free digital download option) through Geffen Records and Black Frog (Rose’s publishing company). MINNEAPOLIS, October 22, 2008 – Best Buy and Geffen Records announced that one of the most highly anticipated albums of all time, Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy, will be available beginning Nov. 23 at Best Buy and BestBuy.com on CD, vinyl, and digital downloads. The title track, the first single from the album, was released to radio today, October 22. Chinese Democracy is the first album of new material from one of rock’s most influential bands since the 1991 simultaneous releases of Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II.

Morgen ist es übrigens so weit. Die Pressereviews sind fast durchweg gut bis sehr gut, allen voran der Rolling Stone. Onkel Axl hat's eben immernoch drauf.

Ich konnte es ja wirklich nicht glauben, bis ich das Teil in meinen Händen hielt.

nach dem ersten mal anhören weiß ich noch nicht was ich davon halten soll, nicht schlecht, aber wirklich vom Hocker hat es mich auch nicht gehauen.

Mich haut This I Love wahnsinnig vom Hocker. Die einzigen Songs, an die ich mich noch etwas gewöhnen muss, sind Shackler und Scraped. Der Rest wird geliebt.
