Re: Feedback: Unforgettable Journey

I need to know them a bit to make a good story. Before each fiction I "study" the characters, the places, the customs,... it is the difference between a "normal" fiction and a "good" fiction. The events can be invented but when you are using a real character, it has to be close from the reality.

For the fiction that you just read, I looked during 2 months what the Russians eat at each meal, dances, how looked the cities, what there was to visit, I read some real travellers adventures with the Trans-Siberian train, I went to the Orthodox monastery to add some more details,... You can check the websites about Novosibirsk for example and you can see that what I describe is correct.

I didn't need to "study" Janne's character because I know him quite well. In the previous fiction I looked for some infos about the Hautamäki brothers. And the fans of Matti seemed to have recognized "their" Matti.

It's funny. Some weeks ago I watched that movie and thought that it can be a good idea of fiction  But it's quite complicated and I will need to have a very good scenario. Otherwise it will be a very bad fiction.

Once I wrote a scenario with Vellu as biologist saving the wild life in South Africa but I never wrote the fiction. Maybe I should... Or to write it with another jumper.

wow, that impressed me, really :gott: i never know, that that is so much work for you. i guess because you get well prepared the fiction is so good- reaaly good-more than good

 yes, the movie was brilliant

why do you like janne a. more than the others? he seems to be cold as ice. or is it just a masch? i mean he somehow has this piercing look in itself. that scares...

Thanks :D

For me, Janne is the most interesting jumper because he has a lot of experience, he is very active in winter and in summer and also he has 2 personalities. In ski jumping he is closed, cold, never smiles,... like a stone. But in private he is full of energy, smiling, entertaining,... the opposite of what he shows in public. Last Thursday I met him and ask him if he could describe himselef in 3 words. His answer was: fast and fun. And it's true, he is really funny. In his biography his mother said that she didn't know if he would be a ski jumper or an entertainer ^^ Because he likes to tell stories, to do little muppets show and to sing.

I also like his eyes. On each picture I have the impression that they are telling a story and that he has a dark side that he wants to hid. I used sometimes that feeling to write stories.

And also it's easier to write fictions with Ahonen because there is a lot of info on the Internet. For the others it's much more complicated because the media has no real interest on them. They only report the bad words or drinking adventures of Harri. But that it's only a little part of Harri! How to know the rest? Okay for a fiction I can invent some features. But not all.

Okay  So, it's not too bad for me.

You know, I'm writing stories since I'm 8 years old. The first ones were very bad. And during my studies I had a scenario lesson for cinema that was very interesting and useful!
